We are seeking a motivated and talented Learning and Talent Development Consultant to work as part of a small team in the Information Services division by supporting, researching, developing and implementing talent programs and initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops and maintains current knowledge of assigned technical areas, Mutual of Omaha practices, the insurance industry, and the business environment. This role could be co-located within the relevant I/S teams depending on the work assignments.
Improves understanding of I/S business system tools, practices, and methodologies by leading daily management and maintaining daily management processes for the team in addition to creating processes to support, and measure various I/S objectives.
Contributes to developing and maintaining customer relations through positive working relationships with internal and external individuals.
Demonstrates and integrates Continuous Process Improvement review into all assignments and has the ability to bring clarity to ambiguous processes (creating competency roadmaps for technical processes and skills) as they relate to and impact I/S functions.
Reviews, analyzes, and recommends new training software applications and equipment. Develops and executes learning plans and paths associated with those applications and our IT Process Academies for learning.
Develops and implements comprehensive communication and training plans for internal and external business associates and customers around proficiency and formal evaluation.
Assists in the work direction of day-to-day activities. Provides overall goals; develops, updates, and maintains work plans. Completes complex and sensitive projects.
Communicates learning outcomes in a clear, effective, and timely manner to necessary parties in the I/S area and other business partner areas.
Develops and maintains current knowledge of assigned business areas, Mutual of Omaha practices, the insurance industry, and the business environment.
Researches, analyzes, and evaluates new and emerging technologies, practices and methodologies.
This position requires sitting over 66% of the time.
This position requires Visual Acuity at 20 inches (or less) over 66% of the time.
Experience gathering and documenting requirements from business partners and project sponsors.
Ability to complete workflow analysis and document process / business function workflow.
Experience with project management processes and tools.
Experience with Lean process improvement techniques and tools.
Proven experience with Adult Learning Theory, including using Bloom’s Taxonomy and Kirkpatrick’s Evaluation levels.
Proven experience with e-Learning tools including Captivate 2017, Articulate, Camtasia.
Proven experience with instructional design to include storyboarding, layouts, graphics, etc.
Experience with maintenance and curation of learning content.
Excellent oral and written communication, human relations, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and decision making abilities. Creativity, diplomacy, sound judgment, and initiative.
Demonstrated ability to meet stringent deadlines, to work independently and as part of a team, to guide and train others, and to provide excellent servant leadership.
Ability to consult with associates, managers, directors, and senior leaders.
Experience working within an Academy or University style model to strengthen I/S capabilities.
Experience with I/S Talent program design and delivery of I/S specific training.
Creating an associate experience resulting in retention of top talent that aligns with corporate efforts.
Experience creating and delivering onboarding programs.
Demonstrated effectiveness with delivery to group of 1000 associates.
This person is passionate about program creation and content development of I/S specific training.
Strong assessment and design consulting skills.
Preferred Strong knowledge and/or experience working with IT teams & technologies.
Strong knowledge and/or experience with insurance products.
Experience with a variety of project implementation methodologies, such as Waterfall, Agile, Kanban, etc.
