The Controller team in Finance and Actuarial is looking for an Associate Business Systems Analyst/Business Systems Analyst to provide input into formulating business solutions through research and analysis & validation of data, facts, and information. Provides advanced support for senior level executives and managers in order to meet defined business objectives and strategy for the division. This role requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, strong computer skills, flexibility, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff. Sensitivity to confidential matters and a positive, can-do attitude will be essential.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists with the identification, development, and evaluation of alternatives to meet business needs

  • Collaborates with others to complete the documentation of projects and implementation procedures

  • Provides specialized administrative support for senior level executives/managers to include:

  • Planning and scheduling meeting and conference calls for multiple calendars, preparing agendas and meeting materials

  • Create documents, presentations (PowerPoint), spreadsheets (Excel) and various materials for the officers and staff

  • Prepares expense reports

  • Manages the Finance & Actuarial Learning and Development administration. Researches options and liaise with the business to gather and interpret information to keep Finance & Actuarial current on important topics.

  • Develops and maintains current knowledge of assigned business areas, Mutual of Omaha practices, the insurance industry, and the business environment

  • Performs ad hoc tasks as requested and follows up on pending items under limited supervision

  • This position requires sitting over 66% of the time.

  • This position requires Visual Acuity at 20 inches (or less) over 66% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced verbal and written communication and human relations skills. Strong attention to detail, problem solving and decision making abilities. Creativity, diplomacy, sound judgment, and initiative

  • Advanced competency in prioritization, organization and decision making skills, ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Ability to work cross functionally across the organization in a highly collaborative manner

  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines, to work independently and as part of a team, and to provide excellent customer service

  • Effective strategic management, project management and organizational skills

  • Very proficient computer skills with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Understanding of data analysis/metrics techniques. Understanding of process improvement techniques.

  • Overall tech savvy with an ease and ability to learn new programs quickly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of insurance products, the insurance industry, related legislation, and business operation procedures and practices

  • Demonstrated experience supporting two or more managers and/or senior level managers

  • 3+ years of administrative experience

  • 3+ years of complex calendaring and travel arrangements
