The Human Resource Specialist is responsible for providing a broad range of Human Resource Generalist and administrative support. This position is responsible for responding to requests and inquiries from internal and external sources as well as develops and maintains positive relations with employees at all levels of the organization.


  • Serve as contact for employees and managers with guidance on policy, procedure, recruitment, Workday and other general HR questions. Resolve routine employee and manager questions and refers more complex issues to the appropriate HR resource

  • Manage and conduct the exit interview process and reporting for voluntary terminations ensure consistency and continuity

  • Intake accommodation requests. Complete routine requests and refers more complex requests to the appropriate HR resource.

  • Process administrative tasks including requisitions, tuition reimbursement requests, IT service tickets, and employee data changes

  • Maintain the HR metrics and related reporting (i.e. organization specific attrition, absence, on boarding etc.)

  • Assist the new hire process including complete I-9 verifications and facilitate new hire orientation, ensure HR documentation and files are compliant with employment laws

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Human Resources Development, Business Administration or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; HS diploma or GED is required

  • 1 year of work experience in HR, office/business administration and/or support function

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with employees across the organization

  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously

  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Basic understanding of applicable state and federal employment and labor law requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of MS Office Suite

  • Experience working in Human Resources Systems

  • PHR (Professional Human Resources) Certification

Minimum Physical Job Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

  • Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear

  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Reports to a Manager in the Human Resources department.
